2018’s Best Moments & My 2019 Goals

Without sounding like my queen Jonathan Van Ness, can you believe another year has come and gone?

2018 has been a weird one to say the least, I’ve achieved so much and learnt so much about myself and about the people that I love. It’s been a year filled with so much growth and change, however, hopefully all for the greater good. As humans, we are creatures of habit (I think) so naturally it can take a while to sink into changes and new ways. Although 2018 has been a difficult year and not what I expected at all, It’s safe to say I’m going into 2019 on a fresh slate and raring and ready to go head first into a new year of new possibilities, new beginnings and new memories.

Oscar was Born!

Say hello to the cutest bundle of joy you ever did see! My sister & best friend gave birth to her first child in April. I remember the moment she told me she was pregnant, as soon as she looked at me, I knew. She didn’t even have to speak a single word. I was so thrilled for her and her fiance, John.

Since I can remember, Hannah had always wanted to be a mother, even when we were children, her dream job was to be a house wife and mother, whereas my dream job was to be a mermaid. So clearly, Hannah was the realistic sister.

Oscar is almost 9 months old and honestly, I don’t know where the time has gone. In the blink of an eye he’s grown into the smiliest little human and I can’t wait to watch him grow and be the best auntie ever.

We Moved House…Twice!

Although this was more stress than I ever intended to bring into my life, moving out and then moving again was the best thing we’ve ever done. Vincent and I moved into an apartment in the city together in Feb, it was honestly amazing and I loved our little apartment so much. However, we out grew it so quickly, so moving into a bigger place became more and more realistic as time went on.

The current apartment we’re in has been a challenge to say the least. It’s a lot different to our first place, however, we have a lot more space, a garden and live in a neighbourhood that fits in with our personalities perfectly. If you’re thinking of moving out in the new year, just go for it and don’t hold back, it’s such a big choice to make, however, it’s one that you’ll never regret.

Celebrating 3 Years Together in Berlin

As Vincent’s Christmas present last year, I treated us both to a trip to Berlin to celebrate 3 years together in April. Berlin was the first holiday we went on together and it’s a very special place for us both. So to have gone back to celebrate 3 long, yet wonderful years together was a dream come true.

We visited all our favourite places again nad explored a few new areas in Berlin that we had not visited on out first trip, we even went on a boat trip on a sunny Sunday afternoon, it was perfect.

I can’t wait to celebrate 4 years together in 2019 and have another year of making wonderful memories together!

We Got a Puppy!

One of the best things that came from 2018 was our puppy Minature Dachshund, Duke! I’ve wanted a lil sausage dog for years and years now and after looking at adoption websites and Pets 4 Homes for months on end, we finally found the pup for us and embarked (see what I did there) on a new adventure with our little fur baby.

Although it probably seems like getting a puppy was pretty spontaneous, it’s somsething I’d prepared myself for pretty much from the second I moved out. I was constantly researching breeds and how to care for them as I’d never want to get a pet that I couldn’t give the time and attention to as with any little bundle of joy, comes a lot of responsibility.

Duke is doing great, we’ve had him for almost 4 months now and I couldn’t be more in love. He’s a proper little mommas boy who wants nothing more than cuddles and treats. You can see more of Duke over on my Instagram stories!

My 2019 Goals

Although 2018 had some truly amazing moments, there was a lot of battles that I was confronted with, mostly in terms of my mental health, however, I came out the other side at some point. 2018 has really made me realise that there are certain things in my life that I don’t have control of and I need to stop worrying about what I can not control and focus on the things that I can change. However, with the bad, there’s always way better and this year I’ve honestly done some amazing things including amazing blog collaborations and starting off my fitness journey! So here are some things I would love to achieve in 2019.

Be Kind To My Body

This year I started attending PT sessions as I was sick and tired of feeling awful about my body and just they way I looked in general. I was at the point where I was repulsed my what I looked like and although I still feel that way to a certain degree, I’ve made the first step in feeling at home with the body that I have and I plan on moving further into this journey in 2019.

Continue To Work Hard

2018 was a year of feeling as though I wasn’t good enough and wasn’t growing in terms of work. This year I want to end the year feeling appreciated and as though the hard work that I do day in and day out is worth it. There’s so many personal projects that I want to work on this year that will express my creativity and my work ethic, because let’s be real, since the day I was able to have a job, I’ve worked so hard to get where I am today, from college, to university through shitty jobs, I need to get it into my head that I deserve to be where I am, because I really am my own worst enemy.

Get Out Of Debt

I feel as though no-one really talks about their money on the internet and their struggles regarding it. However, I’m in debt. There’s been a lot of things I’ve had to pay out for this year and with that, I like buying shit I don’t need in order to make my self feel good for a grand total of 5 minutes. This year I’m paying off my overdraft, paying back the money I owe to my Mum and saving FO REAL. Debt is nothing to be ashamed of and society makes out as though you’re literally satan if you have debt, but guess what, life happens and everything costs too much, so I’m just going to blame it on Brexit.

I hope you all have a wonderful 2019 and achieve everything you aim to and are happy most of all!

Until next time x

Duke is literally the cutest lil pup ever and when my boyfriend and I move out, we’re planning on getting our own little one and I’m beyond excited. They’re just the sweetest/cutest dogs! Wishing you all the best for 2019 lovely!
