It’s been a hot second since I posted anything beauty related on the blog. In all honesty, I’ve really stripped back the amount of makeup I wear on a day-to-day basis and I only wear makeup once or twice a week, which is obviously great for my skin, but maybe not so great for my co-workers because they get a naked-faced Abbie every working day of the week, my bad! Unless I’m going on a night out and need to look ‘full beat’ as the beauty guru’s would say, I don’t really wear a lot of makeup and that’s not because I don’t think I need it, it’s because I’m far too lazy to sit and put it on, or I’ve woken up 20 minutes before I need to be somewhere (which happens far more often than I’d like to admit)
So in the aid of bringing some beauty back to Blush & Noise, I thought I’d talk about some of my favourite time-saving Summer proof makeup products that I’ve been loving recently and the products that have made going from a 0 to a 4 a whole lot easier, because let’s be honest, If I wanted to go any higher than that, I’d need a flipping miracle (or a whole lot more time)
It Cosmetics CC Cream
If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know that I’ve been obsessed with the It Cosmetics CC Cream for over a year now and I’m onto my third tube of it because it’s just that good. I’ve never been the type of girl to opt for a CC cream or a tinted moisturiser, I just never thought they provided enough coverage for my skin and I knew that I just wouldn’t feel comfortable with so little coverage. However, this bad boy has changed the game. The coverage is amazing, It really evens out my skin tone, hides and dark circles and reduces the appearance of any spots or blemishes. PLUS it has SPF 50 which is honestly the cherry on top of the cake. I’ve got coverage with a light, dewy finish as well as protection from the sun, if you haven’t tried this yet then I strongly suggest that you do!
Glossier Stretch Concealer
When I first purchased this, I wasn’t the biggest fan of it, however, I think that’s because all the concealers I use are very high coverage and heavy-duty, whereas this is definitely a ‘your skin but better’ kind of product. I’ve been using this concealer throughout the Summer just under my eyes to highlight the area and add a small amount of coverage. The thing about a lighter coverage concealer is that you just don’t really have to worry about it, which is exactly what I want when it comes to wearing makeup for the entire day. The concealer is really creamy and easy to blend so it literally takes 2 seconds to blend out and you’re good to go
MAC Mineralise Blush – Warm Soul
It’s been so long since I purchased a product from MAC, however, when you have a delayed flight and need to fill some time, you’ve gotta hit the duty-free, right? So I made a little MAC purchase, obviously. I’ve never really been a blush person, I like blushers that are very soft and gentle-looking, just to add a little bit of colour into my cheeks. This blush is honestly my favourite makeup product at the minute. It adds such a lovely amount of colour onto my cheeks, however, it’s almost like a highlighter with the soft glow that it adds to my cheeks. It’s perfect for those days when you’re in a rush or have woken up late, just as it’s so easy to make you skin look as though you’ve had a decent amount of sleep almost instantly.
It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder
I completely went off pressed powders after I discovered the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder and the RMCA No Colour Powder, however, I find in the Summer my face just becomes so much more oily, which results in my pores looking a lot more enlarged, which just isn’t a look full stop never mind a look that isn’t for me. So after It Cosmetics launched in Boots a few months ago, I thought I’d treat myself to their Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder, they do have a loose powder version, however, I thought it would be nice to try a pressed powder as it had been so long since I was used one. I find that a pressed powder makes everything look less cakey, as it’s basically a light veil of powder brushed across the face, rather than packing on a loose powder. It just means that when I’m having lighter makeup days, everything just sort of meshes well together and the powder doesn’t look too heavy over my skin but the oils and my pores are reduced dramatically which is something I can get on board with.
