WINTER STYLE GUIDE | COSY ITEMS TO JAZZ UP YOUR WARDROBE

Winter is one of my favourite seasons,  I love being cosy and wrapping up! However, sometimes I opt for warmth over style, which means when I catch myself in a mirror or shop window, I’m tutting, shaking my head and wondering why I’m dressed like a Yeti.

So over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been attempting to add some items to my wardrobe that are both cosy and stylish. You may think of this as an easy task, however, for me, it’s been an uphill battle if I’m at all honest. There’s a very fine line between oversized and something looking way too big, it’s all about finding the balance within proportions and due to the fact I’m a petite gal, that’s a struggle for me indeed.  Some of these items may make perfect Christmas gifts too and if you’re dealing with a fuss-pot there are SO many exciting gift-vouchers on offer from brands such as Jack Wills, who do the cosiest coats and jumpers. So, just as a little tip, I think a Jack Wills Gift Card would make the perfect gift for someone who style conscious but also wants to be warm – Just like myself!

So, what makes the perfect Winter outfit…

MY GO-TO WINTER OUTFIT

Although I’ve been shopping a fair bit to build up my Winter wardrobe, I’ve got some ‘go-to’ items that I literally cannot stop wearing right now. These items are warm, stylish and comfortable, which are the 3 key features that I look for in clothing during the Winter – Basically, if it resembles pyjamas or is as soft as pyjamas, I will wear it 24/7

– Turtle Neck Jumper

Turtle-neck jumpers are a huge staple this time of year, especially fine knitted ones as they’re so easy to layer with absolutely everything. Although the fact it’s a fine knit may not be the most practical thing in terms of keeping it warm, however, if you’re like me and love a good fluffy coat, it’s easy enough to add warmth in somewhere. Plus, if you’re in and out of shops or visiting friends and family, you don’t have the issue of being too hot in a huge jumper and coat.

– Baker Boy Hat

As you can all probably tell by now, my baker boy hat collection is ridiculous and I’ve pretty much not stopped wearing one for about a year now. They just complete every single outfit and just give it that extra ‘something, something’ you know what I mean? If you haven’t yet got on board with the baker boy trend, I highly suggest that you at least try one on, you may be surprised as I personally think they look good on pretty much anyone!

– Cosy Coat

Obviously you need yourself a cosy coat during the Winter and obviously, I have a stupid collection of coats because well, I’m a coat kind of gal. I suppose in many ways I’m a very impractical dresser when it comes to Winter, I just love a mini skirt! So, having a big old coat that I can chuck on and instantly be cosy and warm is an absolute life-saver!

– Ankle Boots

Ankle boots are my wardrobe staple all year round. I wear them no matter what the season may be, so when Autumn/Winter arrives my ever growing ankle boot collection is out in full force and I certainly don’t have a problem with that. Being a petite gal, it means that wearing ankle boots add a little bit of high, so although for some people ankle boots may not be an everyday essential, however, for me they just don’t leave my feet.

WINTER WISHLIST

Although my Winter wardrobe is absolutely bursting at the seams, that doesn’t mean I’m not drooling over pretty much everything right now. Winter fashion is my favourite and there’s so much on the high-street that I’m loving at the minute. I thought I’d pop together some items that I’ve been lusting over that will also jazz up your wardrobe and keep you cosy at the same time – What more could you want?
