It goes without saying that Pixi Beauty has taken the beauty world by storm over the past few years. It’s gone from every Beauty Guru and their dog talking about the Glow Tonic, to everyone talking about everything Pixi Beauty. It’s honestly hard to escape the Pixi whispers. I’ve never tried any of their products (until now, obviously) however, I’d always wanted to, but when it comes to delving into a new brand, it can be somewhat scary, as you want to believe the hype – It’s as though possible disappointment, despite all the amazing reviews is what I fear most.
Pixi recently got in contact with me and asked if I’d like to try some of their products, let’s just say it took me 0.2 seconds to say yes, I was seriously over the moon, done a little dance, had a little cry. You know, just the usual routine when I get an exciting email.
We’d be here all day If I was to give you a full run down review of every product I was kindly sent, so I thought I would pick out some of the products that caught my eye especially, and whether my initial high expectations were fulfilled. There’s honestly such a wide variety of products that Pixi sell, I genuinely wasn’t aware that they sold such an extensive range of products from make-up to skin care, there’s so much to chose from!
MAKEUP FIXING MIST
I love makeup fixing mists/setting sprays, If I’m not feeling my foundation or I want to ensure my makeup is set in place, I spritz my face like there/s no tomorrow. When In doubt spritz that mist. This product acts as a little treat to your skin, as well as fixing your makeup into place. It’s enriched with Rose Water and Green Tea. Rose Water is great for hydration and Green Tea is a great antioxidant and also obtains anti-ageing benefits, so It’s a brilliant two-in-one. I honestly really enjoy using this Makeup Fixing Mist, it smells amazing and it adds such a subtle glow to my skin, I’ve honestly noticed such a difference with the way my skin looks when wearing foundation, the fixing mist just makes the foundations and powder not look as heavy on the skin. Which to me, is amazing!
GLOW TONIC EXFOLIATING TONER
The Pixi Glow Tonic is probably one of the most hyped products from Pixi ever! Whenever the brand is mentioned, it seems as though the Glow Tonic is everyone’s stand out product and I’ve been told, probably about 10 times, that I NEED to try it! I’ve recently been using Proactiv skincare, as I’ve really wanted to clear up my skin in time for New York next month, just so I feel more confident wearing less makeup. I’ve tried the skin tonic a good few times now, and It’s definitely helped exfoliate my skin and make it feel fresh and plump. However, you all probably know by now that my favourite toner is the Liz Earle Skin Tonic, which I’ve not been using recently in the attempt to find a toner that’s bank friendly. Although I still love my Liz Earle Toner and it’s still the best I’ve tried, I think Pixi have outdone themselves on this products and I can’t wait to see the long term effects of the Glow Tonic.
FLAWLESS BEAUTY PRIMER
I’m so determined to find a primer that I love. I feel like I’m disappointed by every primer I’ve tried. Therefore I usually opt for a primer that provides some glow to my skin, like the Mac Strobe Cream. As I’m wearing it to look glowy, not for my skin to be mattified or for my makeup to last longer. I was honestly so surprised by this product. It slightly tints the skin and adds a subtle golden glow to your face. As a pale girl, I love that! I don’t wear fake tan at all, however, sometimes I feel as though my face looks ridiculously pale, lifeless and dull. However, as this is slightly tinted (and by slightly tinted, I mean slightly) and also obtains such a subtle glow, it really uplifts the appearance of my skin and it just looks SO GOOD under makeup, especially considering I have oily skin and use a lot of mattifying products.
Considering I’m only just dipping my toes into the wonderful world of Pixi, so far I’m really impressed. Although I wasn’t as blown away by the Glow Tonic as I was expecting to be, that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth raving about. I love the Makeup Fixing Mist and how each product seems to double up as makeup, as well as having amazing skincare properties. I’m so excited to try more from Pixi, really lusting over some of their eyeshadow palettes, so when I get round to trying them, you guys know you’re going to get the heads up!
