A BEAUTY BOX LIKE NEVER BEFORE…
Now, I’m definitely no stranger to a monthly subscription box, I find them such a lovely little treat that gets posted right to your doorstep, filled with a whole bunch of surprise beauty goodies. However, Look Incredible kindly sent me their beauty box this month and I’ve never been so surprised. Your average beauty box is filled with maybe 1-2 full sized items accompanied by a variety of product samples and testers. The Look Incredible box is filled with entirely full sized products.
Although I do love a good mini sample, as they’re perfect to keep in your handbag or to pack whilst traveling, however, I end up with a drawer full of samples awaiting the moment when they’re selected to go on an adventure, and that’s If I actually remember that I had them! With each product being full sized, I’m happily to store them with my usual makeup and skincare stash. Sometimes samples just don’t cut it in a beauty box and it is definitely a luxury to receive a box of full-sized products that you can truly get good use out of them!
Here’s my first impressions of the products in the Look Incredible January 2016 beauty box!
BEE GOOD HONEY & CAMELINA FACIAL EXFOLIATOR (RRP £10.50)
I’ve been wanting to try something from BEE GOOD for SO long now! So, when I opened the box and saw the exfoliator inside, I was so excited to finally give it a try. The texture of the exfoliator is really creamy, the exfoliator contains finely milled lavender, therefore it’s perfect for sensitive skin and really soothes the skin whilst it unclogs and exfoliates. The exfoliator really did unclog my skin, I have quite problematic skin and I really opt for products that are purifying and almost work as a bit of a detox for the skin. I found the BEE GOOD exfoliator really helped to unclog my skin and battle any impurities, however, it wasn’t too harsh in the sense it made me break out. It was really gentle and soothing on the skin.
TOO FACED FLATBUKI BRUSH (RRP £12)
First things first, this brush is simply so cute! The thing I love about Too Faced is how much effort goes into their packaging, I’ve not get been disappointed by a Too Faced product, their products are flawless and the presentation of the products is simply flawless. I’m always on the hunt for the perfect brush. I find that I go through phases with applicators however the quest for finding the perfect powder brush has finally come to an end. For one, the brush is so incredibly soft AND it’s completely synthetic and cruelty-free. I’ve been using this brush to swip lose translucent powder underneath my eyes and it works so well for that! It sweeps away the acsess powder instead of taking all the powder off completely, you’re always granenteed a flawless finish!
BAREMINERALS DAILY RECOVERY CONCENTRATE (RRP £19.99)
Although I have oily skin, there’s areas on my face that can become seriously dry, and I’m always so unsure on how to treat it without adding too many unwanted oils to my skin. The product aims to hydrate and replensh skins moisutre, wihch at first I was a little bit unsure of with having oily skin. I’ve been using this as my night cream and applying it all over my face before I go to bed. The product sinks into the skin however it sort of leaves a bit of a tacky residue, so I think if you had really dry skin, you could probably use this during the day as a primer as well!
ROSIE FOR AUTOGRAPH DREAM BIG LASHES MASCARA (RRP £25)
This mascara is pretty much a dupe for one of my all time favourites. The appliicator brush is basically the exact same as the Lancome Volume-a-porter mascara, which is one of my all time favourites. I’ve not yet tried the mascara, as I was kindly gifted my favourite Lancome mascara for Christmas, however, as soon as that one runs out, I’m going to be excitibley giving this one ago, as from looking at the applicator and product reviews, it’s going to be a gooden!
BAREMINERALS 5-IN-1 BB ADVANCED EYESHADOW IN DELICATE MOSS (RRP £18)
This cream eyshadow base can be used as pretty much anything! To conceal, to prime, brighten, to protect and of course as an eyeshadow alone. I love things like this, as I’m a huge fan of thick creamy eyeshadows, as I have quite vieny eyelids, so I like it when my eyeshadow base has a bit of coverage and can hide any of those imperfections. Although the shade is described as ‘delicate moss’ it’s 100% not green, I can ensure you that! It’s more of a taupe/beige shade. The formula is really creamy but velvety, however, it really doesn’t crease on the eyelid what-so-ever!
IS THE LOOK INCREDIBLE BOX WORTH IT?
Yes, Yes, Yes! The box is worth a grand total of £75.49 and it retails at a monthly cost of £18.99 (plus P&P). Considering you get 5 full sized products, which are mostly high end brands is absoltley incredible. The selection of products is amazing, you’ve got a mix of skincare, makeup and tools, so if you wanted to try a variety of products you definitely could!
