Where the hell has the Summer gone? The months are literally frittering away and I’ve realised that I’ve not actually done a monthly favourites on my blog in a while! If you’re social media savvy and keep up to date with me, you may know that during the Summer I started back up my YouTube channel (shameless self promotion), so I’ve been posting my usual monthly favourites as videos – Fancy, I know. However we’re kicking it out school because believe it or not, my first ever post on this blog was a monthly favourites, so I feel as though it’s almost a loyalty to myself to start them back up, as I personally love having a little nose into what others are loving in terms of beauty especially!
This month I’ve got a few mew products to talk about and a few products that have been hidden away in my make up stash over the Summer months and they’re finally seeing the light of day again! Yep, that’s right, I’ve already been whipping out the Autumnal products! As soon as the first leaf hit the floor I was bringing out my inner goth! Autumn, come at me because I’m full prepared to wear dark lips and Autumnal eyeshadows looks!
KAT VON D EVERLASTING LIQUID LIPSTICK | BOW ‘N’ ARROW
I’m so utterly chuffed that Kat Von D beauty is now available in the UK! My days of paying customs to get it shipped over from the US are over. However now I have to deal with the fact that all of my wages are going to be spent on her products. When I’m complaining that I’m bankrupt, it’s Kat Von D I’m going to be blaming! The Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are such a favourite and Bow ‘n’ Arrow is a shade that I freaking love. It’s the perfect brown/nude for my skin tone! I feel as though sometimes brown lipsticks can just enhance just how pale I actually am, however for some reason this shade compliments my skin tone – I just feel instantly glam and put together whenever I wear it!
L’OREAL INFALLIBLE MATTE FOUNDATION | 10 PORCELAIN
By now, you’ve probably realised that I’m not really a big fan of drug store/ high street foundations. The formula is never right for me and I can never find a shade that matches my skin tone properly! However a few months back I picked up this foundation to take to Glastonbury with me as I didn’t fancy taking an expensive foundation to a festival where I was likely to lose it. Therefore I picked this up to take along with me and I’ve got to say, I’m pretty impressed. I mean don’t get me wrong, this isn’t the best foundation I’ve ever used however considering how cheap it was, it’s pretty decent indeed! The formula provides decent and long lasting coverage and the shade is about as close as I’m going to get when it comes to a high street foundation! I’ve been wearing this for work/uni a lot and just any days when I’m not wanting to make that much effort basically!
HUDA BEAUTY LIQUID MATTE | BOMBSHELL
I actually did a little review on these liquid lipsticks last week (you can read it here) and long story shot, oh me oh my these are something else! The shade range, can’t fault it. The packaging, can’t fault it. The formula, can’t fault it. The long wear, yep that’s right, can’t fault it! I’ve been wearing Bombshell pretty much everyday, it’s such an easy colour to wear for work/uni and days when I’m just doing blog stuff or chilling out. Basically I will wear it whenever I get the chance to! It’s a lovely muted pink/brown, it matches with pretty much any eye makeup look that I attempt – which is always a bonus!
MAKE UP GEEK EYESHADOWS | CHERRY COLA & MOROCCO
Make Up Geek eyeshadows are simply a bargain – If you’re wanting to grow your eyeshadow collection without breaking the bank, Make Up Geek is where you need to be looking! They have a fantastic shade range and each many cost around £4-5, so in comparison to MAC eyeshadow pans, you’re saving a massive amount of money in the long run.. or at least that’s what I try to tell myself anyways! Recently, I’ve been loving the shade Cherry Cola and Morocco! Cherry Cola is a brown/cranberry and it perfect for the Autumn time and deepening the crease when you’re creating a purple/cranberry makeup look! Morocco is just the best orange eyeshadow I’ve ever used and believe me, I’ve tried many! It’s so pigmented and easy to blend which is perfect when you’re working with a vibrant colour!
BOBBY BROWN SHIMMER BRICK | PINK QUARTZ
As i’ve said before, highlighters is definitely something that my make up collection lacks. I usually find one that I like and stick to it for eternity. However recently I purchased this Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick whilst in the Duty Free and It’s definitely a valued product to my highlighter collection! The shade is really natural, which is perfect for days when you don’t actually want to look like a disco ball! If I’m wearing a bold eye or lip, I’ve been reaching for this as it just makes my skin look healthy and glowing without going over the top!
MAC LOSE PIGMENT | BLUE BROWN
This is a product that’s been pushed to the back of my makeup stash over the Summer months, however I’m SO hoppy that it’s Autumn surely so I can’t start channeling my inner goth again and wearing the pigment again! The shade is the most difficult shade to describe, it’s brown however it’b blue however it’s sort of purple – That’s literally the only way I can possibly describe it! I’ve been using this on nights out, it’s literally fool proof. I’ve been blending a dark brown all over the lid and pat this onto the centre of the eye and I’m pretty much done.
So, here’s to Autumn and being a goth for the next few months!
