Liquid lipsticks have became my jam over the past few months, which I’m sure is the same for every lipstick addict like myself! This year has pretty much been all about the liquid lipsticks, it went from the Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick hype to the Kylie Jenner Lip Kit hype, and now I’m just giving you guys the heads up that the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipsticks need to be on your radar!
Although I’ve never tried the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits, I can’t say that I’m feeling the need to splash the cash on the customs when I now have access to Kat Von D and Huda Beauty here in the UK – Yep, we’re finally out of the dark ages and I can halt how much I abuse Sephora around payday to get my Kat Von D fix!
So, what makes these liquid lipsticks just so damn good…..
HUDA BEAUTY LIQUID MATTE LIPSTICKS
Huda Beauty is a relatively new brand on my radar, mostly because of their lip contour lip liners and their liquid lipsticks, if you know me you know that I’m a complete lipstick hoarder and it’s a living need to have every possible shade, finish and formula. So when I got an email from Cult Beauty about these bad boys, I was all about that life!
The formula is quite wet, which to begin with I was a little unsure of! I’m aware that they will dry matte however when applying the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte’s the look almost like super pigmented lipgloss. However they do dry to a hydrating matte finish which I love! Comparing the formula to the Kat Von D Liquid Lipsticks, I’d say that the Kat Von D ones do go onto the lips a lot more matte and dries to a complete matte finish within a few seconds. Whereas the Huda Beauty ones do take about a minute to be complete dry and matte to the touch, The wet formula isn’t a particular bad aspect to the liquid lipsticks, I think it simply makes them a little bit easier to work with, especially if you’re in a rush and your application isn’t perfect!
The colour range is pretty fantastic. I mean if you’re a nude/brown lover like myself then you’re going to completely adore the shade range! I’m literally itching to get my hands on a few more shades! There are currently 16 shades in total, varying from pinks, nudes, mauves, purples and reds. So there’s something for everyones lipstick needs! I’ve never actually tried any liquid lipsticks that are dark/red colours, however there’s a shade in this range called ‘Vixen’ which I’m completely crushing on, I think it’s going to be perfect for the Autumn/Winter months and just when I’m feeling super bold – So I will keep you updated on that!
The two shades I have are ‘Trendsetter’ and ‘Bombshell’ both shades fall within the nude category. Yep, i’m sticking with my guns. ‘Trendsetter’ is more of a terracotta shade and ‘Bombshell’ is more of a pink/brown – So both colours are super wearable whether it’s during the day or even glammed up for the evening.
Out of every liquid lipstick that I’ve tried, the Huda Beauty ones wear the best! On the top of my head I’ve tried 7 ranges of liquid lipsticks from various brands such as; LA Splash, Nyx and of course Kat Von D. As the day goes on, the liquid lipsticks still remain comfortable, they don’t sink into any lines within the lips and they don’t make my lips feel horrendously dry. If you work long hours or you’re just not a fan of topping up your lipstick, you should give these a go!
Overall, I think considering these liquid lipsticks retail at £18, they’re excellent value for money. The colour range is great, the formula is probably one of my favourites, and the packaging is simply a delightful bonus! Cult Beauty are lucky to have these exclusive to their site, I love Cult Beauty as their delivery service is amazing and I’ve never had any issues with my items or their customer service! 5/5 for the Huda Beauty Liquid Mattes!
