When in doubt, opt for a band t-shirt, that’s got to be some sort of fashion rule! I think a lot of the time, band tees are seen as the easy option when it comes to casual dressing, you can chuck it on with a pair of mom jeans and some converse and you’re good to go, however for todays post I’ve decided to style my favourite t-shirt in a different way, something a little bit more interesting!

Inevitably by ‘band’ tee isn’t a band tee, it’s a David Bowie tee, because Bowie is everything – Yes, everything! I pretty much live in this t-shirt, at any given chance I’m wearing it with a pair of mom jeans, it’s my ultimate go-to outfit, so sometimes styling your favourite items in a different way can be hard, because once you’ve found an outfit that’s comfortable and makes you feel good, it can be quite difficult to style it in a different way – This was the challenge for me, however by pairing it with other pieces that were comfortable and made me feel confident, I soon found a way to re-create my favourite look!

Over the past few months, I’ve really been making an effort to fill my wardrobe with items that are both timeless and different to anything that I have in my wardrobe already! I’m a lover of the classic blue washed denim skirt, they literally never go out and style and can be paired with a wide selection of pieces, no matter what the whether! So when I saw this red coated denim skirt from Toyshop, I knew it would fit perfectly with the rest of my wardrobe and add something different at the same time! I think this skirt paired with a band tee creates the perfect ‘rock chic’ combination, the goal is to look cool even though you don’t maintain a ‘rock n roll’ lifestyle, I much prefer a cup of tea to a beer, but let’s not dress as though we do, that’s the trick right?

An oversized vintage denim jacket is the main ingredient to making any outfit look effortlessly cool. I’ve had this jacket for about 3 years now and I don’t think it will be a piece that I’ll never not consider as a wardrobe essential. Lately I’ve been adding pins to my jacket to customise it and truly make it my own, nothing too over the top, just a few simple pins that add a hint of personalty to my outfit, which is what fashion is all about, making the outfit or trend your own!

See you on Wednesday!
