Over the past few weeks I’ve been seeing some really amazing orange grunge makeup looks! I’m personally a lover of those fuss free yet super pretty makeup looks, as I’m not a makeup artist and most of the time I’m just praying to the makeup Gods for my makeup to look half decent! That’s the thing I love about grunge makeup, the whole style and finish is suppose to look a little rough around the edges, which is something I can do with ease! Orange eyeshadow seems a little bit vibrant and over the top, however I’ve found some products and some simple techniques to make it super wearable for any occasion!
This makeup look is super simple and you can really intensify the orange or blend it out to make it super wearable! I’ve worn this eyeshadow super orange for the evening, however for the day time I prefer something fuss free and simple! So, how can you achieve this look?
PRODUCTS USED FOR THIS LOOK..
- NYX Orange Eyeshadow in ‘LOL’
- Make Up Geek Eyeshadow in ‘Cocoa Bear’
- MAC Eyeshadow in ‘Mythology’
- MAC Paint Pot in ‘Painterly’
- MAC Eyeliner in ‘Teddy;
- NYX Wonder Pencil in ‘Light’
- Lo’real False Lash Sculpt Mascara
WHAT I DID..
I primed my eyes with the Painterly paint pot, this is the perfect shade to cover any veins that may be visible, I then used a flush brush and began to blend the NYX ‘LOL’ eyeshadow all over my eyes, I blended this out quite a lot and fanned it out towards the edges to really elongate the eyes and make the look that little bit more dramatic! If you want a really intense orange look, then keep adding the colour onto the lid to build it up and then blend out the edges to soften the look – However I wanted it quite soft all over so I didn’t build up the coverage too much!
Next I added ‘Cocoa Bear’ to the outer corner of my eyes and blended it – I love this shade as it’s a really warm toned brown with a hint of orange, so it goes with the intense orange eyeshadow really well and just helps mute the orange that little bit more! I really blended this out similarly to what I did with the orange shade as grunge looks tend to be really well blended and seamless! Although grunge looks are usually completely matte, I added a very small amount of Mac’s ‘Mythology’ to the centre of my eye with my finger, I did this just to add a bit of depth to the eyes and make my eyes ‘pop’ a little bit – However don’t go made with the shimmer you only need a tiny dab!
I wanted to intensify the look that little bit, so I added some of Mac’s ‘Teddy’ liner to my top and bottom lash line and blended it out with a smudge brush, this really pulled the whole grunge look together and added depth to my upper lash line as I wasn’t intending on wearing liquid eyeliner like I usually would! I then added some of the NYX Wonder pencil to my waterline, just to make my eyes look a little brighter and awake! Lastly I added a few coats of the Lo’real False Lash Sculpt Mascara and my look was complete!
I hope you enjoyed todays post and got some inspiration on how to grunge up your everyday makeup look! I’ve been loving playing around with different colours, so I”m hoping to create a more dramatic evening look with the NYX ‘LOL’ eyeshadow as I think it’s absolutely beautiful!
See you guys next week!
