The best thing about a Sunday day off, has to be going for Brunch, this isn’t something that I do too often, however going for breakfast is quite literally my favourite thing to do, I mean why wouldn’t you want pancakes to kick start your morning and make it that little bit sweeter!
Over the past few years there’s been so many brunch hot spots popping up around Liverpool, so I feel as though it’s my brunch-loving duty to eat at them all – I will do it, you can quote me on this! Me and my boyfriend decided to go to The Brunch Club, which is located on Duke Street in Liverpool, there’s been quite a few little cafes and endearing restaurants opening up on Duke Street over the past year or so, like the Filter & Fox for example, which is a few doors down from The Brunch Club.
The interior is always something that truly intrigues me when it comes to eating out, I want to be in a nice environment where I can truly chill out and enjoy my time there! I absolutely adore the interiors of The Brunch Club, I love how rustic it looks, the whole restaurant is littered with points of interest, so it’s nice to look around and take it all in. Mostly me and my boyfriend discuss what furniture we’d have in our house if we ever moved in together – I always find that a nice interior and interesting objects always spark new variations of conversation, which is nice if you where on a first date and didn’t really know how to spark an interesting conversation
It was inevitable that I would chose pancakes, I’m basically a pancake connoisseur, everywhere I eat of for breakfast, I can guarantee that I will order pancakes and I will judge them on my mental pancake scale – Everyone has one of those right? These pancakes where ranked high on that scale, my boyfriend (who got Eggs Benedict) was constantly asking for a fork-full of pancake as he wished he’d chosen them! I loved how everything was presented, if you get a plate and know that it’s suitable to post on Instagram, then you pretty much know that it’s going to be a good meal – Which is so embarrassing to say, but if you’re a lover of insstagram like I am, you will know the mental battle of questions yourself if something is Instagram worthy, everything about this place is, which surely is the biggest compliment one can give a place?
As well as serving Brunch till 5pm, they have a selection of hot sandwiches that are served with a side of fires, which is brilliant as they can cater to everyones preferences! They also have a cocktail menu, so if you’re celebrating or just want to go for an evening drink in a friendly and relaxed environment, this is the place to go – Although I’ve no actually visited during the evening, it’s definitely on my list of places to go to when I’m wanting a quite drink out!
Obviously, after my pancakes I could inevitably squeeze in a slice of cake, we decided on a brownie, I find that brownies can be really hit and miss, sometimes they’re just too dry and don’t even fit in the brownie category. however I was pleasantly surprised by it, it was gooey in the middle and just the right size to sort any Sunday sugar cravings and tip me over the edge and into a food coma!
If you’re visiting Liverpool, or you’re a local, The Brunch Club is a must visit! It’s friendly to families, couples or even if you’re going for a catch up with an old friend, the menu caters for meat lover, vegetarians and even vegans which is always amazing to see, as a lot of places don’t cater to an extensive amount of dietary requirements!
See you on Wednesday!
