Eyebrows have became more than a trend, they’re essentially a way of life. If your eyebrows are looking prim and proper than you look like you’ve got your life under control, when really your frantically trying to sort your shit out before anyone notices – At least I am anyway.

Inevitably, with the brow game growing, there’s so many eyebrow products scattered around by a multitude of brands, both high end and high street there’s an awful lot out there, where do you begin to even select a brow product? I’ve decided to help you out on the brand and product front, with this handy little guide and review to Anastasia Beverley Hills and the infamous brow products that they have available! From the brow wiz to the pomade, I’ve got you covered!

First and foremost, we’ve got the Brow powder duo in taupe, this is perfect for if you want a softer, more natural brow, or maybe you’ve already got strong brow game to begin with. You get two shades, which is a perk if you’re not entirely sure on your shade, or maybe you get your brows tinted form time to time and want something to match your tinted and non tinted brows! Personally, I use the darker taupe shade towards the tail of my brow, and use the lighter shade to shape and define the start of my brow, so you sort of get that faded brow look, however it’s a lot more natural looking. I think the consistency of these powders is really nice, it’s not chalky and think, they’re really smooth and glide onto the skin really nicely. A little tip for if you’re wanting a brow powder, however you want really standout and bold brows, simply lightly dampen your angled brow brush, and then dip it into the powder, it will apply almost like a gel, and the colour will be a lot more defined and bold!

Next up we’ve got the infamous dip brow pomade! This product is praised by practically everyone who owns it, unpopular opinion coming up, but I simply this it’s ‘okay’ (sorry not sorry) Personally, I loved this product when I first purchased it, it took some time to adapt to and to realise how it could work to the best of it’s potential. However, at the time when I purchased it, my brows where naturally thick and very ‘on flee’ if I do say do myself, so I didn’t really need this product for the shaping of my brows, I simply wanted it to make my brows look bold and dramatic! Since then, I had a newbie brow waxer at my local benefit brow bar, wax the thick brows that I had pretty much half off, they’re pretty much half the size that they where (this is probably and exaggeration) However they’re not the shape and thickness that they where, long story short! When I tried to use the pomade, post waxing I just couldn’t get it to work. I attempted to use it t thicken my brows up a tad and exaggerate the shape, as you do, however the pomade applied really strange and natural in some areas, it almost looked like I had drew on my eyebrows with a very faint felt tip pen! Despite my initial love for this, I can only recommend this product to those who have existing thick and well shaped brows! It’s more of a brow definer than a brow shaper!

The brow wiz inevitably has mixed reviews, some love the whole idea of it and some loathe it – However I’m a massive fan of the brow wiz and I can’t even count how many of these little baby’s that I’ve gone through! Before use, I simple scribble a few lines on the back of my hand to warm the nib of the brow wiz up, it applies a lot easier and smoother this way. I love this because I can literally mimic the non-existing brow hairs and make them look fuller and thicker! On the brow shaping front, I usually just mimic the hairs with small and light strokes if there’s areas that need to be filled in to create a nicer brow shape. I occasionally mix this product with the brow powder duo just to soften the brows a little bit more, the brow wiz and the powder duo are pretty much my dream combination to create natural looking thick brows!

Now onto a new launch by Anastasia Beverly Hills! The brow definer came out mid January, so I’ve had a few weeks to gather my verdict of it! I absolutely loved this product initially, It shaped the brows really well and I could apply different pressures in order to create different types of intensity! The applicator is a triangle shape, one end is flat and straight and the other is pointed and raised, I loved this as I could switch to the flat side to mimic long and bold hairs and then switch to the pointed side to mimic really fine hairs! However as I used this product more and more, each side lost its shape, now I’m left with an oddly oval shaped eyebrow pencil that doesn’t really do much, as you can see in the picture above! I’m not sure what to do to get it back to a somewhat similar shape, which is annoying as I really did highly rate this product to begin with! I can’t help but love it as the results for the first few weeks I literally cannot fault, but there’s not much I can do with this product now that the pencil has lost its shape!

Lastly, I thought I would include a little honourable mention to some of the brushes that I use! The first one is the Zoeva Brow liner brush, it’s very long and dense, which is perfect for creating those super clean and precise lines when shaping the top and underneath of your brows! I then use the Anastasia Beverly Hills duo ended brow brush, one side as a comb so you can adjust your eyebrow hairs and the other end is noticeably smaller and thiner than the Zoeva brush, so I use the Anastasia brush more towards the front of my brows to create softer and smaller hairs!

I hope you enjoyed todays post! What are your holy grail brow products?

Such a good review! Thank you. I was considering the dipbrow pomade but not so sure now. So good to see a comparison of all the products though. Thanks Amina xx |

I love a good comparison post like this. I really do want to try some eyebrow products from Anastasia Beverly Hills but I have no idea when it comes to my shade! xJodie // Jodie Loue

Loved reading this post 🙂 Admittedly, I'm very lazy when it comes to my brows. At the moment I'm loving my Essence Make Me Brow. I originally used Benefit's Gimme Brow however, I feel that the Essence version is just as good for a much better price! xJess | It's That Time For

I absolutely love the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil but it is just too pricey for me to repurchase every 4-6 months. I have switched back to my Anastasia Brow Powder Duo and it has been great. It does take longer than a pencil though so I'll have to look into the Brow Wiz xxCelina | The Celution | Bloglovin’

I've never tried any Anastasia Brow Products, apart from their brow gel but I'm definitely interested in the Brow Definer. I only use the Hourglass one so I'm interested in how they compare :)xxx Claire

Anastasia is a really good brand but its a lot more expensive here in New Zealand! I have been trying to find more cheaper alternatives – but most are pretty incomparable as the brow wiz really is a good product :)Kathy

I swear by Dipbrow and the Anastasia #12 brush, they're so worth it for a good brow. I want to pick up the brow definer for lighter brow days, but Auburn is always out of stock.brooke | brooke elise

Thanks for this review! I've been torn on what to get and they all seemed good. Will probably end up purchasing the brow definer because I like a thicker nib!
