12 DAYS OF BLOGMAS | NOVEMBER FAVOURITES
It’s already time for my November favourites! November has been such an exciting and stressful month and I feel as though I’ve had some amazing opportunities throughout it! Let’s hope December is just as successful!
If you’re somewhat confused my the title of this post ’12 Days Of Blogmas’ I’m going to be posting every other day during December, so stay aware that there’s going to be a whole lot of festive outfits, makeup looks and recipes appearing over the next few weeks! This year I’m feeling excited about Blogmas! If you read last years posts, then you will know it was a very difficult time for me, and posting every day became a bit of a chore! Therefore I thought posting every other day would be more manageable for me – And I wanted each post to have effort put into it as it’s all about the quality rather than quantity at the end of the day, I’d rather have 12 really refined and polished posts, rather than 24 slap and dash posts! Big shoutout to all those people who can keep up with Blogmas, I salute you sister!
Anyway.. let’s get on with the favourites!
November has been a month of new festive purchases and rediscovers of old favourites – Which is how I am every month really! – I always gravitate towards similar products during the Winter months. As Winter is my favourite season, I stick with what I know, because it’s indefinitely the month where I know my shit when it comes to what I want to put on my face and what I want to be wearing! I’m all about the berry lips and sparkly eyes!
– BUMBLE & BUMBLE – INVISIBLE OIL, SULPHATE FREE SHAMPOO
As some of you probably already know, I bought this shampoo back in October, as my skin was having terrible reactions to all of the shampoo’s I had been using. After some research, I came to the conclusion that my skin was reacting to the Sulphates that are in shampoo’s, so naturally I went on the search for a shampoo that was sulphate free! I love Bumble & Bumble, so this shampoo was my first choice when I was on the hunt! This shampoo has helped my hair so much! I no longer get irritating marks in my scalp and on the back of my neck! The shampoo is really gentle but it really cleans the hair too. The only thing I don’t like about this product is the price of it, but if it does the job, then I’m willing to spend it – Maybe if I close my eyes when I purchase it, it won’t be as bad?
– RIMMEL LONDON – STAY MATTE POWDER: TRANSLUCENT
This is such an old favourite of mine! This has been sat in my makeup stash for probably a good few months. I was doing a little bit of makeup organising and throwing out and giving away things I hadn’t used in a long while, when this old gem caught my attention! I had forgotten how much I loved this powder! I had been sticking with my Nars and Laura Mercier translucent powder, however the brightening effects of my high end powders is something that I love, none of them keep my skin as matte as the Rimmel stay matte powder! For the price the quality is incredible! I’ve not yet met a person who doesn’t love this powder! Welcome back to the main stash my friend!
– MAYBELINE COLOUR SENSATIONAL MATTE LIPSTICK : DIVINE WINE
I feel as though these lipsticks have been getting talked about more and more the past few weeks! Which is amazing because these lipsticks are well sensational.. They’re a matte formula, however they don’t have that overly thick and drying feel to them, they’re really lightweight and wearable! The formula reminds me of the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks, and everyone knows how much I rant and rave about those lipsticks! This colour is perfect for the part season, pair it with a bronze eye and you’re good to go! Every time I’ve worn a red lip this month, this is what I’ve been wearing! I’m really desperate to try the other shades in the collection to see if they’re consistent, however this is the shade that I’m naturally drawn towards!
– MAC LIPLINER :BURGUNDY
This is the lipliner I’ve been pairing with Divine Wine, I love Mac when it comes to lipliners and lipsticks, they literally have a shade for everything! I’ve had this lipliner for a while and I had been paring it with Mac’s Diva. however I find that divine wine just looks so much better with it! It may be because I prefer the formula of Divine Wine, as I find Diva to be really drying and a little bit too matte. If you’re gonna do the deep red lip, then Divine Wine and Burgundy lipliner are the duo that you need in your life!
– MAKEUP FOR EVER AQUA CREAM : 13 / WARM BEIGE
I’ve been lusting over this product for some time now! I’ve had it for a few months, but I haven’t really been into golden eyes until quite recently! This is another product that is perfect for transitioning into the party season! I use this on top my eyeshadows to add just a hint of sparkle, without it being too much! If I’m going to do a sparkly eye, I like to take a subtle approach to it! These are so similar to the Mac paint pots, however I find that this almost dries like a powder, whereas the Mac paint pots stay creamy. The staying power of the Make Up For Ever one is just as good, as the shade range is just gorgeous!
SWATCHES – FROM BOTTOM :
MAC BURGUNDY LIP LINER
MAYBELINE DIVINE WINE
MAKEUP FOR EVER CREAM EYESHADOW – 13
TOO FACED : MILK CHOCOLATE BRONZER
I am literally IN LOVE with every aspect of this product! I love the texture of it, I love the shade of it, I even love the smell of it! I’ve been wanting to try this bronzer for so long now and whilst I was in the middle of christmas present shopping, I thought it was only right to treat myself! Pale skin folk, this is the solution to our pasty complexions! It’s got such a velvety flawless finish to it, it makes contouring so easy! I’ve been using this with my Real Techniques Bold Metals Contour Brush and I just love it! Although it’s pricey, I can’t stress how much of a difference this product has made to my everyday makeup routine! I’m a victim of having a baby face and look like I’m 12, so contouring is crucial to my routine!
ASOS GREY BEANIE
As it’s getting colder outside, I’ve been on the hunt for a stylish, yet practical winter hat and were else to find that than ASOS? This had is so thick and comfortable, however I don’t feel stupid in it! A lot of my previous winners hats have had bobbles on them, and I really think I’m over the whole bobble hat faze. I love the colour of it, I love how warm it is, and most of all I love that I actually want to wear it! Maybe this year I won’t get a horrific cold and have to spend all my time inside surrounded my tissues and lemon water! If you’re looking for a winter hat, this is my recommendation!
Now it’s time for the random favourites! This month I’ve gone back to an old music love of mine, a LA female quartette named WARPAINT – If you love Tame Impala and bands that are quite euphoric and experimental, than this will be your cup of tea! One of my favourite albums has to be THE FOOL which they released back in 2010. When I’m traveling to and from uni, I’m constantly listening to WARPAINT, I feel as though they keep me calm and collected when really I want to cry because I’m so stressed out! I you haven’t listened, then you have it, especially if you’re all about girl power!
My next random favourite isn’t a product or a thing of any sort, it’s a memory! This month my boyfriend turned 20, as I treated him to a stay at the Titanic Hotel, we had such a lovely time and it was really nice to just chill out in each others company! I’m not really the type of person who talks about their love life too openly, however I’m a very lucky person to have my boyfriend as my best friend, and to be able to have amazing memories to look back on, as well as new and exciting things happening in the new year, which I’m sure will be amazing memories to look back on at some point!
See you on Thursday for the second instalment of 12 days of blogmas!
