ON THE 6TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS BLUSH & NOISE GAVE TO ME, A FESTIVE MAKEUP LOOK..
For today’s post, I thought I would show you a festive makeup look! This is defenitley a look that I would wear on christmas day, or even to christmas parties! It’s super simple, however the burgundy lips make it that much more festive and special! I think with a look as simple as this, you don’t have to use the products that I’ve used, you can simply adapt it to whatever is lingering around your makeup stash!
When it comes to festive party looks, I always like my skin to be quite flawless, or as flawless as I can make it without looking caked in it! I think the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12hr Foundation is perfect for this look! It’s a really creamy texture, however it doesn’t apply overly thick, I find it to almost airbrush the skin and make it appear velvety smooth! Which is perfect if you’re going to be having your photo taken, either on a night out, or on christmas day! I then went in with my Nars Creamy Radiant Concealer, once again you can use any of your choice! I like to use this concealer as it’s perfect for brighting the dark areas around my eyes and nose, and I think for a party look, you want your skin to look glowy and healthy, this concealer definitely helps with doing that, without it being too over the top too!
I then powdered my face with my trusted Nars Light Reflecting Translucent Powder, this powder mattes the skin, however it adds an almost undetectable glow to it, you wouldn’t think you’re wearing a powder, which is good if you’re wanting to take the powder out with you on a night out and top up if needed! I then added some of my most ranted about Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer, if you’ve been reading my blog the past few months, you’ll know that I absolutely adore this powder! It’s just really soft and natural looking, however it works really well at defining the cheek bones without it looking as though you’ve etched your face with orange face paint, contour should be natural and simply look like the natural shadow of your cheekbones, this powder helps me to achieve this perfectly! I then brushed a small amount of my Mac Mocha Blush, the colour of this blush is quite similar to Benefits Rockateur, however it doesn’t have any shimmer whatsoever, as a lot of the products I had used where illuminating, I thought using a matte blush would make me look less like a glitter ball and more like an actual human! t adds a really soft and natural flush to the cheeks, which is exactly what I wanted to go for! I then finished off my face by adding a little bit of the Mac Soft & Gentle Highlighter
For eyebrows I used my well loved and probably most re-purchased makeup product, my Anastasia Of Beverly Hills Brow Wizz in Taupe I completely adore this product, I feel as though this is the only eyebrow product I can use without completely messing them up and making myself look like a real life Yeti! I simply brush/flick it through my eyebrows in an attempt to mimic the hairs and then I just fill in the more sparse areas in with smaller brush strokes so that they look a lot thicker and fuller, but still look somewhat natural! I then brush through a bit of the Benefit Gimme Brown in Light/Medium this just keeps my eyebrows in place all day long, or all night long – You don’t want your eyebrows disappearing throughout the night!
For my eyes, I used my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette another current favourite of mine! I used the shade Cashmere Bunny all over my eyes and then added the darker matte brown shade Sexspresso on the outer corner of my eyes and blended it all in with the Zoeva Crease Defining Brush, I then simply patted some of the shade Honey Pot onto my eyelids to add a bit of a golden shimmer. I then added a small winged liner with the Illamasqua Precision Ink, for some reason I think that winged eyeliner is super festive, is that just me? I wear eyeliner so much in the winter! I lastly added a few coats of the KIKO Extreme Sculpt Mascara to both my top and bottom lashes and viola, eyes complete!
To finish of the look, I thought it would be wrong of me to use any other shade of lipstick than Maybeline’s Divine Wine I have loved and raved about this lipstick since the second it was on my lips! I genuinely cannot recommend this lipstick enough! It’s a nice alternative to red, it still keeps in with the festive shades, however it’s just something a bit more darker! I always say that it’s such a perfect dupe for Mac’s Diva, so if you’ve been lusting over Diva, I’d give this one a try before you made the purchase!
I hope you enjoyed today’s 12 Days Of Blogmas post! The next one will be with you on Tuesday, so keep your eyes pealed!
