What better way to dress yourself than with a lipstick – I mean clothes are obviously an essential to dressing yourself, but no outfit is truly complete until you’ve got a lipstick that matches your outfit. Or maybe I’m the only person who sits and contemplates about their daily lipstick choice and how it will reflect my mood and fit in with my outfit. There has to be someone else who does this..
I thought I would hare my ‘Lipstick Wardrobe’ as I’ve recently been inspired by the ‘YSL Lipstick Wardrobe’ for their Rouge Pur Couture collection. I’ve mixed it up from the rich berry shades, to the mauve pinks that I endlessly love, so hopefully there will be something that will spark your interest!
– MAC – DIVA (top centre of main image)
Diva is that really rich dark red colour, it almost reminds me of mulled wine (If we’re going to be all seasonal about it) It’s one of Mac’s matte lipsticks, so I would recommend this lipstick as an evening one. As personally matte lipsticks can be a bit drying during the day for me, especially when they’re this dark. I love this lipstick when I’m wearing all black of an evening, which is pretty much all the time throughout the Autumn/Winter if I was to be totally honest. We all need to channel our inner goth though.
– CHARLOTTE TILBURY – LOVE LIBERTY (bottom left)
As everyone who has read my blog before will probably know, the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks take up a good percentage of my heart. They’re just so creamy and beautiful! Love Liberty is one of the most recent shades that I’ve purchased from the collection. This lipstick ties in with the lovely autumnal berry shades, however it has a purple tinge to it, which makes it quite vibrant. This lipstick looks so good with a festive copper eye, or when you’re feeling like shrek but you wanna feel like Alexa Chung
– BOBBI BROWN – SOFT ROSE (middle)
This is a shade for my shy sisters, who love the idea of lipstick and adding colour via your lips, but don’t feel as though you can pull of a really dark lip. This lipstick is basically what it says on the tube, it’s a soft rose colour, which you might be thinking is more of a spring/summer shade, however pop on a lipliner like Mac’s Whirl or Mac’s subculture lipliner and dab the lipstick on top and you’re good to go
– MAC – TWIGG (middle)
Whenever I wear this lipstick, someone asks me ‘What lipstick are you wearing?’ The colour is quite similar to the Bobbi brown shade, however it has that brown undertone to it, which is once again really good for people who love a Autumn lip, but don’t want to go the the extreme!
– MAYBELINE – DIVINE WINE (top right)
I’ve been wearing this lipstick so much recently! Since Lilly Pebbles did a post about the new Maybeline matte lipsticks and I was just like heart eye emoji’s everywhere. The formula is so similar to the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks, and they’re less than half of the price. This colour is a really deep red wine shade, it’s quite similar to Mac’s burgundy lipliner as it definitely has purple undertones to it. They’re the perfect match!
– KIKO – 06 / MELODIOUS WINE (bottom)
We all love a bit of KIKO don’t we? The brand is SO cheap but it’s SO good! I went a bit crazy for their Rebel Romantics collection and had to buy this lipstick! On the website the lipstick appears to be a really dark wine colour, however it isn’t. It has those berry shades within it, however I’d say the pink undertones over power them. It’s like a vibrant version of Love Liberty! Although the colour wasn’t what I expected, I don’t have a lipstick anything like this within my collection, so I’m kind of glad it wasn’t as dark as I thought it was, because about 70% of my collection are dark reds and purples.
– MAC – TAUPE (far right)
Although the ‘Kylie Jenner’ lip phase is pretty much over, I’m still loving this shade. It’s a mauve pink with brown undertones, perfect to pair with a soft brown smokey eye for either day and night. This is the lipstick I wear when I don’t know what lipstick I want to wear. As although it’s a matte lipstick, the texture is really creamy and It has something about it that just make your lips look amazing! It’s similar to twig, however it has a lot more of a brown undertone and I tend to find that I wear this a lot more in the colder months than I do with Twigg!
Hope you enjoyed tonights blog post!
