How crazy is it that it’s now November? This year has gone so fast and I’m so excited that Christmas is finally on the horizon! October was a stressful month, however a month of many new and exciting discoveries! October is the month that you can finally settle yourself firmly within your Autumn wardrobe and finally start wearing Autumnal makeup – What’s not to be excited about?
I’m going to start off with my beauty favourites, as I’m guessing that’s what you’re most interested in. I’ve loved playing around with my make-up this month! I’ve been loving copper eyes and a subtle lip this month, usually I’d be straight into my berry toned reds and purples, however I’ve really been loving having the emphasis on the eyes rather than the lips!
1. MAC Eyeshadow Palette – Burgundy Times Nine
I completely adore this palette, it’s a really beautiful mix of autumnal colours, that you can alter to use both with your day and night looks. I’ve particularly been loving the shade ‘Antiqued’ which is the sort of burnt orange copper within the palette, it’s very similar to Mac’s ‘Coppering’ eyeshadow which I absolutely loved last year, however it’s more brown that that burnt orange undertone that Coppering has. I’ve also been loving ‘Embarked’ (which is the dark brown shade in the centre of the palette, next to antiqued) I’ve been using this in my crease as I think it’s really compliments the shimmery coppers I’ve been using and helps to goth the look up a little bit.
2. MAC Paint Pot – Painterly
This is one of the products that’s highly likely to be in my 2015 favourites, I am such a big fan of the Mac paint pots! I’ve written a whole post about them previously and my love just grows stronger and stronger the more I use them. I use this shade as a base for basically all my eye looks, however as my makeup has been getting a bit darker this month, this prevents the eyeshadows from creasing better than any primer I’ve ever used, as well as hiding any veins on your eyelids on days when you want a really minimal make-up look!
3. KIKO Extra Sculpt Mascara
I must admit, I was highly sceptical of this mascara at first glance, the wand looked really clumpy and I initially thought it was going to make my eyelashes clump together and looks completely tragic. However don’t judge a book by it’s cover, this mascara gives my lashes so much volume! It’s really similar to the Too Faced ‘Better Than Sex’ Mascara, it has the same hourglass shaped wand and I genuinely can’t tell the difference between the two mascaras. If you’re considering purchasing the Too Faced Mascara, give this one a go before you make the investment.
4. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
This product has been a major lust for some time now, and I finally caved in and made a Sephora order last month, as I needed to repurchase my Tarte foundation, as it’s like complete gold dust here in the UK and I thought I’d purchase this little gem too! This eyeliner is literally fool proof for me, it stays on all day and stays jet black too! I am a sufferer of really sensitive eyes, and as the weather gets colder, I literally walk the streets with tears in my eyes as they’re that sensitive. I no longer have to feel paranoid about my eyeliner smudging! My only regret about this product is that I’m probably going to be tempted to make another Sephora order and try more of Kat Von D’s products, she’s done us eyeliner lovers proud!
5. MAC Lipstick – Cream In Your Coffee
This is the lipstick that I was wearing in my last blog post, in case you where wondering. A lot of my more neutral lipsticks are matte finishes and sometimes that can be a bit drying, especially as winter is approaching us, I really don’t feel like smothering my lips in vaseline 24/7. So I picked up Cream In Your Coffee, which is one of Mac’s cream sheen lipsticks. It’s a really beautiful brownish-pink and It’s been working really well with the copper toned eyes I’ve been wearing lately.
Now onto my fashion favourite, this month hasn’t been as awfully cold as the previous years, so I feel as though I’ve been able to be a little bit more adventurous with my footwear, rather than opting for a pair of boots all the time.
These lace-up ballet flats are from Zara and they’re just so simple yet elegant, I’ve been paring these with black jeans and victorian lace blouses, and even thick jumpers on days when I’m feeling the cold. You will be seeing a-lot more of these in some up and coming OOTD’s!
If you’ve been keeping up to date with my twitter or instagram you will know that my 2015 new years resolution was to take more pictures, and over the year I’ve collected a multitude of polaroid camera’s, disposable camera’s and of course I got my Cannon 700D this year. I’ve been using my big instax cameras the past few months, however this month I’ve rekindled my love for my trusty instax mini 8! It’s in my favourite colour and it’s so easy to carry around. I am really sentimental about photographs, and I hate deleting them off my phone when my memory is full. I think this is a great way to keep your photo’s forever, I find great comfort in knowing that these photographs that I take on my polaroid cameras, could potentially be the photographs that I could show my future children when they ask about my life.
I hope you enjoyed this months favourites! Feel free to leave a link to your blog below, so I can have a noise at what your favourite are!
There’s also going to be a Sunday post this week! So I will see you on Sunday!
